Application submission dates for 2026
Term 1, 2026: 8am AEDT Monday 27 October 2025 - 5pm AEDT Friday 14 November 2025
Term 2, 2026: 8am AEDT Monday 16 February 2026 - 5pm AEDT Friday 6 March 2026
*Please note that schools located in remote areas of Australia (as per ARIA category) will be eligible to apply for a Remote Sporting Schools grant from 2026, with applications opening in February 2026.
Details about funding open and close dates will be available via the Sporting Schools website, our Sporting Schools Update (term newsletter) to registered schools and our social media accounts.

If your school meets the registration and eligibility requirements, you will be able to apply for funding through your school account by accessing the ‘Grants’ tab once applications are open.
Can we submit an application after the funding close date?
No, once applications close, you will not be able to access the form to complete and submit a funding application.
If you are having issues accessing the form during the application period, contact Sporting Schools immediately on 1300 785 707.
NOTE:
- Sporting Schools is not obliged to cover costs for programs arranged before a funding outcome confirmation was supplied to a school. Schools run the risk of having to fund programs that have been organised and run without funding approval.
